Sarah Magruder Lyle - President and CEO, CGA
#LiveGasMapping Conference Replay Session 1
Sarah Magruger Lyle, the President and CEO of Common Ground Alliance (CGA) was first up at the PRISUM Virtual Conference ( #LiveGasMapping ). Her dedication to this industry shines through with her involvement in energy policy and government relations and having the Secretary of Transportation appointing her to the department’s Liquid Pipeline Advisory Committee.
She introduces the Mission of CGA as Education, Information Analysis, and Stakeholder Engagement and went on to discuss each of those in-depth. Damage Prevention Stakeholders are also a large part of the Eco-system, and these show up in many industries.
Driving home the importance of safety and, as she puts it “the news isn’t great,” with the extent of total damages in the US. With a focus on root causes as opposed to finger-pointing, Sarah’s presentation highlights and showcases the issues around damages and the importance of live gas mapping as a strong link in the chain of damage prevention.
Sarah describes the difference between best practices and CGA’s next practices, demonstrating CGA’s dedication to innovation to addressing critical issues. She also notes how PRISUM’s technology is key to addressing the issues identified having the most impact and that mapping data is paramount to safety.
CGA’s Website is full of resources of best practices with mapping as a part of all of those practices. Sarah ends with a Q&A session giving more insight into the role gas mapping has in damage prevention and problems with the gaps derived from lack of “as-built” data.
