Mike Parilac, the founder of Staking University, who serves over 800 accounts domestically with global affiliate programs, also produces Planet Underground TV, which is dedicated to education supporting excavation safety. He also publishes The American Locator which is a damage prevention industry Journal, demonstrating Mike’s commitment to the safety of people and their education. We were excited to have him at the PRISUM Virtual Conference for #LiveGasMapping.
This presentation focuses on the electrical-magnetic (EM) instrument’s role in the gas space including an overview of all utility systems. Mike has a unique and effective way of explaining the basics of how capturing results of location information works. He breaks down the physics in an easy-to-understand manner, regardless of your level of contextual knowledge of this industry.
This presentation includes a live video of an EM instrument in action locating a steel system that transitions to a plastic system, which then requires the EM instrument to detect a tracing wire to obtain the location data.
